Didier Drogba

            Didier Yves Drogba Tebily  popularly known as Didier Drogba was born 11 March 1978. He is best remembered by many for his time spent with Chelsea Football Club due to his landmark acievements in the squad. He made his professional debut at the age of 18 for French Ligue 2 club Le Mans, and signed his first professional contract when he was 21. He currently plays for American club Phoenix FC.

A  few of his many impressive on-the-pitch records include:

»The only player in history to score in four separate FA Cup finals.

»Has a career record of scoring 10 goals in 10 different finals.

»Chelsea’s fourth highest goal scorer of all time.

»All-time top scorer of the Ivory Coast national team.

»Two-time African Footballer of the Year (2006 and 2009).

»Has scored in  scored in all six English cup finals (FA Cup and League Cup) in which he has played.

»First African player to score 100 premier league goals.

»Named Chelsea’s greatest ever player in a poll of 20,000 fans conducted by Chelsea Magazine in November 2012.
The list goes on…

             Out of the pitch, the 39 year old star and father of three is better known as the founder of the Didier Drogba Foundation which among other things, has raises funds for the construction of health centers in his home country, Ivory Coast. In January 2007, he was made UNDP Goodwill Ambassador.
