Born in Yaounde, Cameroon in 1985, Charlotte Dipanda is an afropop music artiste and song writer. She sings in French, her native language Bakaka, and in Douala. She released her first album in 2002. She later moved to France where she worked with other great artists like Papa Wemba, Axelle Red and Manu Dibango.
She released her first solo album in 2008 titled Mispa. With hundreds of concerts to her credit, She has also released other albums like Dube L’am’ in 2011 and ‘Massa’ in 2014. Some of her achievements include;
- Best female African artist of the year at the AFRIMA awards, 2015
- Album of the year 2015 (Elle n’a pas vu).
- Best artiste in African contemporary music 2015.
- Best Central African female artiste.
The 32-year-old is really a star to watch. She teamed up in 2016 with Cameroon music icon Richard Kings to produce the 2016 AFCON theme song. Watch it here. With many more years ahead of her, Charlotte Dipanda is an artiste to watch out for.
