Days of old, days of gold
Gone too soon but not yet old
Unlike men in days of old
Men I hear, they were bold.
Days of old where treasures lay
Nature had her part to play
That was then and not today
All we had in waste lay.
Days of old, kindness flourished
Kids in mind very well nourished
Not today, they’re all malnourished
With characters so unpolished.
Days of old, quickly gone
All her goods seen and done
Now we’re left with boots and guns
This is no wordplay, smiles or puns.
Days of old, joy and hope
Streets were filled with youth and hope
Now all we see is wine and dope
In this crazy world, who can cope?
Days of old, family and pride
All that’s lost in timeless tides
Now we’re left in homeless rides
With no kids, grooms and brides.
O days of old come back soon
Where’d you go, to the moon?
Play the song we’ll dance to your tune
Dear old days, we miss you.
