Double suicide attacks in Cameroon’s Far North Region on Wednesday have left six civilians and the two attackers dead.
The deadly blasts happened in the town of Kolofata, where similar attacks occurred early this month. The attacks happened just hours after Cameroon custom officials reportedly seized narcotics, probably intended to supply members of Boko Haram insurgent group. The insurgents have carried past attacks of this nature in the area.
The Far North region which for some months now has been very peaceful shares borders with Nigeria which often witnesses such attacks too. Both countries for years now have been battling the Boko Haram insurgency for years now, but the battle seems far from over.
