The trial of Zimbabwean legislator Hubert Nyanhongo and three of his accomplices has kicked off.
The four men who were caught in possession of a live pangolin have been charged for attempting to sell the endangered mammal. The other three men with whom he is facing charges include; Samuel Samson, Misheck Satuku and Positive Mutenda.
The ex minister who is of the ruling party ZANU was released last week on bail for the sum of $200. Local media also reports that as part of his bail conditions, He was ordered to report once on every Friday at Dzivarasekwa Police station, he had his passport withheld, and is to reside at his given address until the finalisation of the matter.
The legislator has so far pleaded not guilty, stating that he was on his way to a traditional healer’s place when he was arrested.
