FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers; more at stake for Cameroon.

Retired Nigerian defender, Ajibade Babalade says he believes Cameroon will find Nigeria a tougher team in August than they found Chile  in the first Group B match of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.

Completesportsnigeria.com reports him saying:

“Well, the Cameroonians impressed me despite the loss to Chile. Chile are clearly a better team than South Africa that also won against Nigeria by the same score,”

He went further to say “it is going to be a different ball game when it comes to Cameroon playing Nigeria.

“There is more at stake in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers than in the Confederations Cup.

“Besides, I expect the Super Eagles to be fired up for the match after the disappointing AFCON qualifier against South Africa. Our coaches should get the video tapes of their Confederations Cup matches and study them very well.

“They are African champions but they will have some weaknesses in their game which I hope the Super Eagles coaches will be watching out for”.

The Indomitable lions of Cameroon are set to clash in Abuja, Nigeria come August in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

FECAFOOT officials “on tourism” in Russia?

Just hours to the indomitable lions’ first game, Cameroon’s football governing body FECAFOOT has come under public criticism on the delegation sent to Russia.

Tombi a Roko

The delegation led by FECAFOOT President, Tombi a Roko Sidiki is made up of eleven. Concerns are being raised about the delegation with regards to government expenditure on plane tickets, lodging, feeding and pocket allowance. Previous experiences have not been very friendly to the average tax payer.

Issa Hayatou

Some media houses have even gone as far as comparing the status quo to that of Issa Hayatou’s era at the helm of the country’s football governing body. An online news site quotes the delegation as being “on  tourism” in Russia. Could this mean Tombi’s rule isn’t up to the expectations of Cameroonians yet?
